Looking for a bit of help with iTunes.

I've recently installed iTunes on my laptop but iTunes has now set itself up as the default player.

Anyone able to tell me how to prevent this.

    Thanks.

right click an mp3 file and go to "open with" go to choose default program and select whichever media player you want and tick the box at the bottom to keep using that program and press ok - should be job done

    Cheers DaftDave, that sorted it
I've going to have a further problem you might be able to solve for me
The missus is getting an iPod during the week, from what I'm aware she'll need to put all the music we have onto iTunes to put it all onto her iPod.
However I don't have an iPod and don't want one so therefore I want to access the music through another program.
At present we have all our mucis on a seperate hard drive, am I going to have to backup all our music on a seperate hard drive, one hard drive for iTunes and one for me

No. You can use something like Winamp or Mediamonkey or WMP (or whatever player you want) for yourself, iTunes for the missus :pac: and just import the same music into both players... The only thing that might happen is if you have WMA tracks, they'll need to be converted by itunes into either AAC or MP3... So you might have some duplicates, but you don't need to have all the music copied into 2 places at all...
