Just received BB 20Meg Ultra pack with NTL. (Already had Digi TV with them ). I'm seeing interference on the TV any time internet is active; a good example occurs while doing a speedtest - TV goes pear-shaped ( eratic white lines on the screen ). Surely this is not the "norm" ?

No, internet should not effect TV, log a call with UPC, they'll send out an engineer to fix it.

Is the broadband and tv connected to the same outlet? Do you have a wireless router placed near the tv? Is it certain tv channels or all?

AFAIK they can remotely change the frequencies used by the cable modem and if there is cross interference that might solve that.

Thanks folks for the info. Yep BK, logged the call. They said that the NTL supplied modem was operating at higher power that specified ( They could determine this from their end using some test method ). I'm gettin' a visit on Tuesday.

Happens on wireless and on direct cable link to modem. Also tested on other TV points in home - same interference. Mostly noticeable during downloads.

    Thanks for the info ;-)
