    This is closer to 900 but there is 120 euro cashback on it. (How does the cashback work on nikon stuff btw?)

    What do you want to do with the camera?

    You have an option between something like a G9 or a DSLR but there's no point in spending a fortune on a DSLR if you don't know why you'd want it.

    Would hold off on the G9 for the moment, nikon has brought a G9 killer to the market and would wait and see what canon do in response..

    I would go with the dslr if you are serious..

    What's this g9 Killer you're talking about? I'm this close --><-- to getting a g9....

    Why not? He obviously has the cash, he can do whatever he wants with his money. And I can probably guess why he'd want a camera: To take photos? Maybe? Or he could use it as a doorstop or something I dunno.

    Mybe the OP doesn't have a specific idea of what he wants to do with the camera. I know I didn't, I just wanted to get into photography, so I splashed out on an slr. I'm now on my second slr and I'm a happy man!

    By the way, at the risk of starting a war, I'm going to recommend that the OP goes with Canon. OP I'd say a 400d or 450d would be good for you. Have you any experience in photography?
