    Hey,

Does anyone know why there is always groups of junkies milling around outside tara st. station in the mornings. It looks like they're all on summer project and they're about to head off on a day out to Claralara. Anyone know why they're there in the mornings?

There's a methadone clinic around there, I believe.

Noticed that myself, I assume they have to move when the commuters start coming

(I assumed they slept in there)

I walk past them every day, and haven't found them abusive

One of the junkies will no doubt post an answer here soon. They don't like vicious rumours to circulate unchecked.

    Getting their fix?

According to Andrew Maxwell there's no-one busier than a junky in the early morning.

No they're not abusive, well i havent experienced it. But it must be a bit weird for tourists and stuff, straight off the dart and it looks like they landed in Sick Boys sitting room.

Always wondered why they gathered there also. A few years back whin I was in my mid teens two of them started harassing me and attempted to mug me. Probably would have got my head kicked in if one of the guys working in the station hadn't come out and scared them off.

Methadone clinic nearby on Pearse Street, IIRC.

But it seems people enjoy wildly speculating than knowing the actual answer.

it might have something to do with all the ticket dispensers around. Apparently they're like moths to a flame when they see them, according to the metro that is.

I would have categorized my speculation as more mild than wild, in fairness.
