An hour and a half to go for me.

Meeting some random bird tonight that I scored last weekend. Basically I can't really remember if she was a hottie or a nottie, so I'm meeting her mainly out of curiosity! If she's rotten I'll bail and meet up with a few mates!

Saturday I'll be trying to stay sober until 1:00 am so I can remember the Dubs Tyrone game! It won't be easy!

What's everyone up to? Xavi's probably in the pub at this stage, damn westerners!

Heh, not quite. Still got 2 hours left in work.

We're havin a 70s/80s/90s themed night at our soccer club tonight. Cheap booze and cheesy choons is gonna be a great mix!

Tomorrow will involve a hangover and a serious arse groove on the couch to watch the Eagles beat the Demons from midday then maybe a trip to the cinema in the evening.

Sunday is game day so get up early, have a decent breakfast and go play in the early afternoon. Few beverages afterwards no doubt.

After work beer is imminent and it's off to the city later for more of the same. Hangover tomorrow no doubt and then off to the Swans game in the evening. Have a match on Sunday morning (with or without hangover) but have to be there to lift the silverware after a long hard season. And then of course beer on Sunday afternoon/evening.

Imagine all the people back home just arriving at work looking at this thread and us finishing up on the Friday evening, poor feckers, but that used to be me once!

I come from a heavy GAA background and I can relate to it in a way but I can see why others would find it off putting. Also, beer will be there!!

Apparently the games go on for about 4 hours too, I can't think of anything worse than going to a game, and all they do is hoof the ball around the field. I think there's a tri-nations game on at midnight tomorrow so i'll probably go somewhere to watch that.

So you'd rather watch a big bunch of oafs put their heads down and run straight into each other in the hope of gaining five metres? Epic stuff.

I prefer football but there are skill and tactics in rugby union, and it's played worldwide.

 There are skill and tactics in AFL. Have you watched a game? (I only ask cause you didn't seem to know how long a game lasts for).

Does that mean hurling's crap cause it's not played worldwide?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,240 ✭✭✭hussey

    Tomorrow get Smashed!!

I utterly despise anything to do with the GAA so you're asking the wrong person. I can't watch AFL it reminds me of GAA too much.

Oh yeah, the black cats take on liverpool, hopefully Andy Reid will score a hat trick and get the season off to a great start, won our opening game last year V spurs too.

I'm no GAA fan myself but the skill in hurling is undeniable.

And you're a Sunderland fan? Good Lord.

Oh yeah the premiership! I'll have to stay up and watch Villa stuffing Citeh!! Marlon Harewood hat-trick, eh Xavi?!;)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,671 ✭✭✭BraziliaNZ

I've been a fan ever since Niall Quinn played for them, so I'm not a Roy Keane bandwagoner don't worry. Realistically I think it'll be 2-0 pool tomorrow.

I was out for dinner and drinks after work last night. Having a weekend at home then methinks cos I'm flat broke. Next weekend we're having our annual work social club ball. It's 1920s themed and we're all dresing up. Then getting trashed. Free drink all night! I'm saving myself for that!

my weekend spiralled out of control and I didn't make it to work on Monday so decided to pack it in, contract was up on Wednesday anyway then off to Perth on Thursday. But on the flipside the new girl that moved into our house turned out to be great fun and we hooked up Sunday night and have been molesting the sh*t out of each other since. Why does it take 6 months and 5 bloody days before I leave to meet someone I actually like? Oh well...

This has got to be literally the slowest day EVER! Come on weekend....get here quicker...I wanna hit the pub...

I went to that summit restaurant for my birthday two years ago (ironically on this very day 2 years ago!) and the view is something else. The food wasn't special but it's worth it for the view.

Sydney must be one of the best cities in the world for a diverse selection of cuisine.

Well it looks like beach weather so it's off for a swim down to Clovelly on Saturday morning followed by a few cold ones watching the AFL grand final. Hope to god Hawthorn win it!

Public holiday on Monday for the Queen's Birthday. God save her and all that! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,367 ✭✭✭✭watna

We already had the queen's birthday a few months ago. She's lucky... I hear she gets a few birthdays a year!

I'm not well and exhausted so left work at 4pm and am home on the couch. Going to take it easy tonight and tomorrow.

I'm going to see the sound of music on Sunday in the Wellington Opera House. I'm ridiculously excited about it. (It's my favourite film of all time... sad I know!). We're going to have an Austrian themed lunch first with lots of wine and then head to the performance.

I think it's different in different states in Aus. I recall us talking about it before when it was the nz one.

How many birthdays does our Majestic Great Ruler have.

I for one welcome blaa blaa blaa *overused stupid boards phrase*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Yep WA has it at a different time. Think the other date is too close to one of our other public holidays (maybe foundation day) so they moved it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭One Cold Hand

WA is quite a bit behind everywhere else. They just got electricity there last year.

Watching the U.S. presidential debate, then heading out to the sticks (the coogee bay hotel!) to watch the game, and then prob back into the city this evening for a few beverages!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 416 ✭✭Coileach dearg

Going to the horsie trots tonight in Harold Park raceway. Tomorrow will be celebrating Oktoberfest in the rocks, Sunday will be more Oktoberfest and Monday recovering at the beach if I'm still alive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,025 ✭✭✭slipss

Off to Belmont Race course for the day, should be a good laugh, it's Irish day (whatever thats supposed to mean) down there and I scored myself some free tickets, tickets are only 20 quid or something in anyways, but I never say no to a freebie. Then off to the beach tomorow to let some german chick teach me how to surf, and it has nothing to do with the fact that she looks kinda like Kirsten Dunst and will be wearing either a skintight wet suit or a bikini, no seriously ;)

I'd doubt she wore a bikini. It was seriously freezing where I was on Saturday. She'd have been smuggling serious peanuts if she wore a bikini!

I'm going to Spring in the Valley tomorrow, will be there from 11am onwards getting smashed in various breweries and vineyards. Anyone else going? Particularly looking forward to www.duckstein.com.au
