interesting - the article mentions a lot of hotly favored wrestlers who didn't make the finals. Article seems biased somewhat.

You'd think if the medal meant so little to him and he really wanted to protest about the judging he would have been better to refuse the podium altogether and not accept the medal. That just shows a lack of class.

    Lol what a legend.

Did anyone see the wrestling match and able to comment on its fairness. I have to admit wrestling scoring/judging is far beyond my abilities.

    I dunno.

I seen something very similar at a bodybuilding show here in Dublin about ten years ago (maybe less than ten actually).

A lad from Swords, John O'Toole, who was the audience favourite to take his catagory and overall in show lost to Peter Brady from Total Fitness who was clearly lacking is a lot of area's, but who was sponsored by the show sponsor.

Anyway John O'Toole took his place in the awards line up, accepted the bronze statue and ran at the judges table and smashed his trophy through it.

It wasn't classy, but I can understand someone throwing the head when they genuinely feel they've been ripped off.

LOL, I love the comments people left...

"you'ld think 3rd in the world would be good enough for him"

"i would have proudly taken bronze medal at the end of the day its a damn medal!!! "

...such stunning insight into the mindset of a top-tier competitive athlete!
