Reception Entertainment Suggestions?

Sorry if there's already a thread about this...I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations for entertainment for after the wedding meal.

We're trying to stick to a tight budget as its a small (ish) wedding and I'm not keen on going for a band + DJ (too dear!).

Can anyone suggest a band or small musical outfit that do a bit of both?

Or would it seem very stingey of me in your opinion if I went for a DJ only?
Though knowing my family, after a few drinks they'll be singing themselves by the end of the night, so they mightn't need a band!

oh we're having the wedding in Kilkenny.

    Thanks in advance :)

If you read down some of the posts in this forum you will see quiet a few people these days are just putting together a playlist or 5 for the music to replace the DJ. So if you have a lap top and access to PA system in the hotel then this might be an option.

go DJ only, my brother did and it was the best craic ever, had the crowd going all night!

    Thanks for the suggestions :)

I was reading about using laptops in another thread, I'd love to do that but I'd be so nervous of it going wrong on the night that I don't think I'd be able to relax :(

I think I might just go for the DJ only, I just wasn't sure if it was enough as any wedding I've ever seen/been to always had band and DJ.
