Walk the Barceloneta beach in the evening, buy 1 euro beer cans from the Romas? that sell Estrella.
Definitely go to the zoo at 4-5 when it's not so hot and the lions and tigers are more active. Well worth it!
Hire a scooter down by the beach and drive around for a day (don't get killed :)) Get a T10 metro card to get around.
    Eat falafel from Maoz.

Mind your stuff, keep valuables in sight at ALL times. Too many friends has had bags etcetera stolen. Only carry what you need for the day, leave everything else in hotel safe!

We spent two days in Barcelona after a cruise last month. Great city, but I agree 100% with Biko - watch your valuables. We got the two day Bus Turistic (http://www.barcelona-on-line.es/eng/reserves/bus_turistic.htm) pass, it gave us a really good overview of the city in a limited time.

If I had four days, my inclination would be to do the Bus Turistic for two days, get your bearings and decide what you want to do, then get the T-10 metro card for the areas you want to follow up based on the commentary and guide books. Get the two day passes - there's only a 6 euro difference, and the vouchers you get will easily make that up.

My key pieces of advice would be

1 Don't miss Parc Guell. It's a bit of an uphill walk from the bus stop, but a phenomenal place. Our highlight in Barcelona.

2 If you are on the Bus Turistic, there's a stop on the blue route called "Telerific de Montjuic", a cable car that goes to the top of Montjuic Hill, and has stunning views over the whole city. Highly recommended.

I can't comment on nightlife - I was there with the family, so everything was really planned with two teens in mind.

Other options if you want leave the city for a few hours are Tibidabo, an amusement park and viewing area on the mountain overlooking the city, and Montserrat, the monestary in the mountains nearby.

We didn't do either, so can't comment, but an hour or two on Google should tell you all you need to know.

I can't wait to get back.

If you have time go to portaventura you can get a train and entrance ticket for €45 at the train station! 1 hour journey. And get the bus around the city its the best way to see it has all the stops and make sure when your passing Gaudi's Cathedral take pictures while passing it on the bus because its so big its hard to fit it in while on the ground!! Go into Gaudi's buildings aswell they will be pointed out to you on the bus well worth seeing. Went to the zoo and acquarium wouldn't advise going as it really is only wasting your time!! You can go to Dublin zoo anytime dont be wasting a visit to Barcelona! I saw a girl getting her bag robbed so be careful.

But getting robbed is all part of the Barcelona experience. It just wouldn't be the same without it.

Personally I think the Sagrada Família is a great one to see. It's a cathedral that they started construction on in 1882 and it's still nowhere near finished. Amazing building though. It's expensive and the queues are long but the views from the top are amazing.
