wouldn't you normally know just not to shave the bit where you have a big beard as opposed to the stubble on the rest of your face?

i.e the goatee you already have is you 'template' of where not to shave.

Fraid not.You try and get the original line,it seems like you did,then you check and one sides wider than the other or curves different-very annoying!
