Thanks Ramunas - that may be a possibility - I work shift so will go with whatever days/times suit best when I move.. But I have added that site to my favourites for now...

There is a Kantanni Karate-Do club in Clane run by an Eamon Brady but sorry I don't know the venue. I could find out if you are interested.

Thanks Peter - I think I've heard of Kantanni - is that the Irish martial art? (or one of them) Yep I'd be interested in trying it out

Thanks Pearsquasher.. That looks really interesting.. thing is i could only make one day a week for half the year (cos of my shift calendar)_ but I send some time in Galway most weeks.. would traiing in both venues be ok or is there a club politics type thing that would prevent that?

No problems at all. The thing to do is pick a main teacher (someone who'll assess you during your training lifetime) and tell them of your situation and they'll be happy to see you train at any club thats a part of www.bujinkan.ie.

    Thanks lads.
Found it difficult in the past to stick with any style that meant I had to travel due to shift change and other personal circumstances.. found Krav Maga and LOVED it but had to quit when I ended up sitting in traffic for over 2 hours per trip to and from training sessions.. but would like to stay active in some sort of MA/SD..
OUt of curiosity I heard there's a Tai Chi instructor in Clane.. anyone know what the story is there? I am kinda curious about Tai Chi but hesitant to train in it as yet as I have attended courses on it begore and the martial aspect of it has generally been ignored. Courses were 6 or 8 week ones and did little other than teach how to do a form - full stop!

Anyway I am definitely gonna check out the kickboxing, karate and ninjutsu and see which one suits best. TBH I am not bothered about which art I train at cos I think there's common ground between all MA/SD and if you understand the core of what you;re learning you'll excel at it. It's not the art but the person learning it. The only ones I would really not be interested in (due to previous experience) are TKD and Kenpo.
