Most receivers are designed to work best with speakers nominally rated at 8 ohms but most will be fine with 6 ohm speakers where the lower frequencies go to a powered subwoofer (as with the Tannoys) and in a domestic setting you're unlikely to be overdriving the speakers.

The Sony STRDG710 would be a good budget choice for the Tannoys.

I have a question to everybody.I have a onkyo receiver.I noticed at the back which noted that i can only hook speaker 8-10 ohms only.but the speakers that i bought is 6 ohms.which i like it so much coz it's so powerfull. What will happen if i hook 6 ohms speaker to a receiver for 8-10 ohms only.

    Thanks!
looking forward to hear from you.

    cheers!!
