have you tried an Audi or VW dealer.

is it part of the key, or part of an aftermarket alarm fob?

It should say what type of battery it is on the battery itself, although you might need a magnifying glass to read the writing :)

Take a look here for common sizes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watch_battery

A photographic shop would be the best bet to try and find a replacement.

    hvnt tried the dealerships yet,
thought it would be easy to get tried a chemist allready they said they wouldnt have that type of battery at all, but it could just be that chemist,
no its just for the light on the key and its kinda handy to have beacuse ive allready scratched my car in the dark missing the keyhole :-(
on the back of the battery it says px625a
    china alkaline cell

Dunnes stores stock a load of batteries for car alarm / remote fobs.. If you open the cover of your key there will be a code on it, look for the battery with the same code in the shop..

I got 2 new batteries in dunnes for about €5..

This is what you're looking for then .. any of the type designations on that page will do, although it's a slightly unusual looking battery (not a standard coin or button cell) and might be a bit tricky to find.

EDIT: just seen jimbo78 posted the same link :)
