    It normally goes like this.
    • Apply online
    • Interview & writing report test
    • If succesful you will be sent a GR2 form to fill in; all your details, education, mother, father, siblings, relatives etc.
    • Send to GR office when complete.
    • If everything checks out, it will be sent back with an R #. Form to be presented to local Garda staion for signature & stamp. They send it to GR office.
    • Backgroung checks will now begin, can take a long long time, depending on the amount of relatives you have and where they live.
    • In the interim, you may be asked to meet local Sarg & Super.
    • Can sometimes have medical before checks are complete: hearing, lung capacity, blood pressure, urine, full medical with doc including eye test, touch your toes, looks at your throat, colour blindness test, BMI, general body check.
    • If you pass this and checks clear, you'll receive email letter of success and a time and date to appear at Templemore.
    • GR recruits are now staying in the college for phase 1 & 3 and final attestation. 56 hrs law and 40hrs at local training staion.
Hope the above helps, I waited approx 18 months before I got the call, now going on to phase 2, law!
