Eoin Rheinisch just finished fourth overall in the Kayaking K1, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal, A guy from Togo beat him into 3rd on the very last run.

Gutted for Eoin, he came so close and he did so very well though, he got there by the skin of his teeth, but really proved himself. He seemed a lot more controlled than in the earlier runs.

Our best finish ever in this event.

It was almost the stuff of dreams, squeezes to semi 15/15
squeezes to final 10/10 and then to almost get a medal!
Fantastic achievement for him, medal would have been icing!

There was a good few people missing gates and getting other penatlies, well until the last four came down and they had too mush of an advantage over him before they started.

Sucks for Eoin. So annoying to see moaners on radio shows giving off about the fact that he's getting praise for "only" coming fourth. He did better than expected and besides, what's their point? That he deserves more criticism for coming within a hair of a medal and losing out than the rest do for not getting anywhere near the podium?

Anyway, fair play to him, he had a great attitude in the interviews afterwards.

Fair play to Eoin. Aiming for a top ten spot, I think 4th is a fantastic achievement. He got stuck for a second but I'm not sure if it would have put him ahead of the eventual bronze medal winner. Still, gutted that he didn't get bronze but fair play to him.
