As the title says (somewhere in the south Dublin area preferably). I've a 25L drum of oil I want to get rid off. I know the local dump in Ballymount disposes of oil, but I'm not keen on spending €10 odd for the privilege.

I bring mine to ballymount or crumlin. When you pull up to the gate in ballymount they ask you what you have and when you tell them its waste oil its free in.

Just pour it down the drain, it'll be grand with all this rain we're having.

And before the moral police show up --- I was only joking:D

dont want to sound like another "in america they do it this way" merchant but its possible to get a boiler for your house that runs on used motor oil, there is a supplier in ireland of these boilers but i think going direct is much cheaper
    handy if your a mechanic!!!
also im not sure if its true but i believe that the stena/irish ferries fleet runs on the stuff!

^ That would be handy but the oil I currently have is mixed with water and other stuff. Worth considering for the future though.

Motor oil is excellent lawn fertlizer. Especially when massaged in by hand.

Put it into your fuel tank to help lubricate your fuel pump, etc.

    (don't actually do this!)

My car is making spluttering noises and won't start anymore?!?

    Should I put more in?

    :pac:

Do! I have several litres of spent oil here. One of the canisters also has some coolant in it which may improve performance by keeping the temp of your fuel down!
    I think!
