Tranferring iTunes' songs and videos?

    I'm having a slight problem trying to figure out how to (or if you can) transfer songs out of iTunes from computer to computer. You see, I am recieving my new iPhone 3G at the end of the week and I'm trying to prepare all the songs on my iTunes so the can be imported straight away. But the problem is, as I only own a small 4GB iPod I didn't really see the point in having aload of song when I'd only be using a portion of them. But now as the iPhone I'm getting is 4 times bigger than my iPod, I want more of my songs on it. But all of them are on my brothers' iTunes on his laptop, but I'm not going to transfer them straight from his account as;

    1. His iPod is 160/180GB and I don't want to get just the first few songs according to their alphabetical order, I have to choose all the ones I want and bring them over to my iTunes.
    2. I want them on my laptop, I don't want the be bouncing over to him to update my selection.

    Is there anything I can do, or is there any solutions?
    Help much appreciated,
    Thank you in advance,
    Nailz.

    His music is probably stored in his "music" folder, inside a folder called "itunes music" (probably, not definitely) so open that up and drag whatever songs/albums/artists you want to an external storage device and then from that to your laptop.

    Alternatively use one of the listed pieces of software in the FAQ sticky to take the music you want directly off your brothers ipod onto your computer.
