    Hi,

I'm going to a wedding in Bristol next week and wondered what the best way to bring my suit is. Will a suit cover and a small bag be allowed (one item of hand luggage).

Not so much worried about Dublin but Bristol are quite strict this way. in the worst case I could just wear the thing..

Who are you flying with? I know different airlines/airports have different rules.

    1 suit cover + 1 bag = 2 items though....

I know I can get away with 1 backpack plus a handbag/laptop into London, except some of the BA flights.

I actually had exactly the same question about flying from Cork to Nice with Aer Lingus - I want to bring a backpack and a suit bag... Will it be allowed?

The only way to carry a suit is to wear it really. Apart from the one piece rule with Ryanair some UK airports are very strict on the size of the luggage so better safe than sorry.

I think you'll be OK coming back through Bristol with the bag and suit, they are not that anal about the "security" like some airports.

I fly to London with Aer Lingus weekly and have never had a problem bringing a backpack and a suit bag

I think I might risk it - worst comes to worst I can throw it on or something...

Ryanair has its standard hand-baggage sizes on its website:

    http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=bag
    and
    http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=bag&quest=cabinbaggageallowance

Basically: "Handbag, briefcase, laptops, duty free etc must be carried within your permitted 1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 10kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm."

I got a nice little wheelie bag in TK Maxx the other day for €28 that's within the size restrictions.

Some things aren't allowed to be carried, and some things (such as liquids) have restrictions. It's a good idea to pack a padded envelope, stamps and Sellotape, so you can dash out to the postbox in the airport (not far from the departure gates) and post something home to yourself if you discover it's a mortaller to carry it on.
