Additional Public Holidays

Will there ever be new public holidays brought in to bring us closer to the european average of public holidays?

As far as im aware the last public holiday was added in 1994? If there is to be a pay freeze perhaps a couple of extra days holidays should be guaranteed to people?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Perhaps work and jobs would have been more suitable?

An easier solution might be to bump up the minimum number of days of statutory paid leave? 20 is a bit miserly in comparison to the rest of Europe- and for the most part is adhered to even in junior management positions. Maybe bumping it up say 23-24 days?

Labour party wanted to bring in two extra public holidays if elected. Could have been just an empty promise, we'll never know

February 1st, St. Bridget's Day was definitly one of them
