Just seen a Western Digital Elements 1TB USB2.0 for €115 on Komplett.

Is this a very good deal or is there something suspect about its quality?

I have the 500gb and it works perfectly. Had it 6 months and no problems at all.

Yes and you'll need a usb cable which should come with it.

Are you confusing this with a media drive? You'll need a USB host with video-out to watch movies off this...

I assumed he meant have the files on the drive and play them on laptop/computer. They will do that but yeah it doesn't have the connections for playing on a tv.

I got it a week or two ago and no problems so far, apart from me formatting it to NTFS which my 360 doesn't recognise, but I can still plug it into the PC and stream it to the xbox and it works fine.

The way that I decide on external drives now is by the warranty offered - for example seagate typically give you 2 years plus.
I had 2 western digital passport drive that failed after about a year and a half - it had a year warranty - funny that !
    - Of course the bigger disks (3.5+) are more reliable - however personally I have'nt had great experience with western digital.

Thinking of getting the 1TB one of komplett.
Looking at the reviews it says that it comes with a 2 pin power cable.
Is an adapter included? If not will a 2pin to 3 pin shaver adapter work?

Komplett generally throw in a (crappy) 2 to 3 pin converter. A shaver adapter would probably be better.
