    Hi Amy

I got my teeth whitened while on Holiday in Turkey.
The process was very simple and little pain involved,

Dentist cleaned my teeth. Then they use a rubber holder to keep your mouth open and your teeth exposed.
The also use some padding to keep your teeth exposed.
They then place a glue like substance on the part where your gums meet your teeth.
They then paint your teeth with the whitening solution.
Then its 20/20 minutes with an ultra violet lamp pointing at your teeth.

I had 3 sessions of that ( amount of sessions depends on how white you want your teeth), and the cost was €200.

Not sure of the prices here, but presume the process would be very similar.
I had a little bit of sensation in the Gums after the 2nd treatment, but nothing too painful.

All in a ll a pleasent enough experience.
Was told it should last about 3 years, depending on tea/coffee and smoking intake.

cant imagine VHI would cover it though, as its non essential, and not an illness etc

a well fitting tray/shield is the best way to go, you have more control, can top up on the shade at anytime and usually have alot less sensitivity.

Try this...tray and gel kit for under 20 Euros at www.hairagain.ie
It gives a good result without the whiter than whiter look.
I'd post a photo of before and after but I'm shy!
