Where to go on hen?

Any advice on where to go on a hen weekend in early December?

The bride has expressed an interest in going away for a weekend somewhere in Europe. Nothing bargain basement, but don't want to break the bank either...

A mix of boozing, sight seeing and pampering would be perfect. Any ideas/experiences? And what makes a good/bad hen weekend? It's the first time I've been involved in a wedding so I'm clueless! Thanks.

Done to death, but Amsterdam is still a great location. Lots to see and plenty to do. Loads of shopping, sights, activities, good nights out. Best of all, flights there are still pretty cheap. Accomodation may be trickier price-wise, but it gets cheaper the further from the centre you stay.

Otherwise, maybe London? Loads of good hotels with spas/close to well-known spas there for some pampering.
