Hi I'm just wondering if anybody knows of anywhere that i can pick up old battered guitars/string instruments in need of a bit of refurbishment....I seem to recall a stall at a market in Limerick a few years ago but he doesnt seem to be around anymore....anyone know of any carboot sales around the country where one might find old instruments? basically im looking for a few bargains! :)

    eBay is your best bet.

If you're refering to Kilkenny Vintage Guitars then I'm not sure that they would fall into the "car-boot sale bargain" category Jerry is looking for. They tend to be more high end and expensive.

Jerry, I've used ebay and searched for words in the musical instruments section like "not working", "damaged", "project", "repair" etc.etc. and picked up some nice deals that way.

i remember seeing a stall in the car boot sale that they hold in kilkenny regularily. Lots of old violins and a couple of guitars. They didnt look too healthy when i was looking at em but if the stalls still there it might be what your looking for.
