'Sunday afternoon's meeting at the Curragh has fallen victim to the weather with the course found to be waterlogged after an inspection.

Course officials looked at the condition of the track at 7.30am but the result of a day of rain on Saturday left them with no choice.

"Unfortunately it's been cancelled, which is a real shame because it was a cracking card," said Cliff Noone, press officer for the Irish Turf Club.

"The course is waterlogged in places and there is nothing they can do about it.

"We had a lot of rain, it was a deluge yesterday and there have been more showers overnight."

Three Group races had been due to take place, the Phoenix Sprint Stakes, the Debutante Stakes and the Royal Whip.'

Posted up on the go racing/HRI site & Channel 4, RTE still not gotten news up on Aertel..

Shame really. Looked like a good meeting. Anyone know if there are plans for it be rescheduled? It's on Aertel now by the way but I honestly wouldn't bother looking at that until after 10am on a Sunday morning. They still have tips up for the meeting by the way :P
