I have a set of entrance gates that need painting. a lot of small difficult to get at surfaces Am thinking of trying the Hammerite Metalmaster paint gun. Its about 45 euro to buy. cans of paint are 25 euro each.

    Has anyone tried it ?

Unless your gates are very old they won't be wrought iron. If they were they wouldn't need painting. Hammerite is as good as anything for steel, which is what I'd guess your gates are made of. If they have a lot of crevices etc then a spray gun is the only way.

    Hi Louis,

I bought one of these Hammerite guns to paint my gates and really didn't like it. I threw it aside and went back to the good old fashioned brush & paint.

i recommened sanding wire brushing and brushing, if you havent sprayed before its not the way to go, new to spraying is a pain, i know, iv bn painting for 8yrs now. brushing is time consuming but you'll get a nice finish.
