it's amazing how easy it is for him to get the word out... he should be dropping his album in december... can't wait!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 82 ✭✭idPlease

December is the month as usual in hip-hop! spoilt for choice - Andre 3000, Jay-Z, Dre, Eminem and possibly Kanye.
Cant wait for Blueprint 3, read the supossed track list last week on sohh.com but it was dismissed hours later by an "insider" saying the album had a "theme"! Intriguing!
    HOVA!!

didnt Kanye bump up to november and 50 still dropping in Dec, how could you leave him out of that list ^^^

Kanye is about the only one of those who will drop this year. Maybe Jay, you'd never know. Dre wil never drop, Em and 3000 are due next year I believe.

Hopefully he drops an album around the same level of AG, which was a real suprise. Didn't think he had another album of that quality in him.

maybe because people actually want to hear the albums mentioned in the list. 50's time has come and gone, his sales will be nothin like they where for get rich or ......... (did the new g unit **** even sell 500,000??????) there was a quote on mtv news from 50 all last saying Hov was a nobody til he got with Beyonce. 50 has to try start a beef with somebody to help promote his ****ty albums where as real hip hop artists like Jay, Big Boi, Andre and others just drop a dope single and let the music create the buzz.

Did 50 Cent honestly believe saying that would even create a beef? Surely he could have come up with something better than that. Jay-Z having released what 6 albums before his relationship with Beyonce became public? Nobody is going to pay any attention to something as ridiculous as that. Scraping the bottom of the barrel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭The-Game

For Curtis they released the tracks all wrong, had they of dropped I Get Money as the first promo single it would have done alot better, by far one of the best from that album, even though alot of tracks were poor on there!

it probably won't start a beef and besides 50 wud be incredibly stupid to go up against Hov, but it certain got 50 some much needed air time. what i was getting at is an artist like 50 can't just go out an promote his albums (mainly because there completely ****e) he has to get attention by talking bout other artists. last year it was "if Kanye out sells me i'll quit" if only he kept his word! i'm sure he pull another pubicity stunt between now and the release of his album.

no getting back on point, can't wait for BP3!

50 cent has fallen off so badly i dont think he can ever recover the critical aclaim he received on Get Rich. His mixtapes before he got signed were very good, and the stuff he brought Ja Rule down with was great but since he released Candy shop:eek: nope!

Granted "i get money" was a bangin beat but thats all.

Kanye will make a huge splash when it drops. I think Dre's detox is like Guns'n'Roses "Chinese Democracy" - never gonna show!

Definately want to hear some new Just Blaze on this album :)
i think Blueprint 3 will be a classic, after hearing Jockin i was like "yes!"

I'm not sure if Kanye's new album is going to be able to top graduation! Very different sound!

Love Lockdown not a fan of the vocalizer, T-Pain overkilled it and Kanye will do the same :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Exactly...the whole album is supposed to be like that!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 82 ✭✭idPlease

He used it on the last album and nobody complained about the vocoder. he uses it on Swagger Like us to good effect but i just hope it doesnt get old.

As for T-pain, he's a one trick pony!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

I don't have a problem with vocoders so much. Love Lockdown is a terrible track regardless of the use though.

I think Blueprint 3 will be my first Jay-Z album to hit my collection! Have always listened to any of his big hits which there has been quite a few, but never found myself going out and buying any of his albums for some reason.

With all the positive speculation im hearing regards this album i reckon its time i join the fan club!;)

To continue with the derailing of this thread T.I. Papertrail hasn't left the cd player since i bought it last week!!

Top album from the King imo!;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭The-Game

A good album with a few filler tracks but nice stuff from T.I

    /end off topic

Anyone whos not a big Jay-Z fan yet check out his older stuff theres plenty to find, some classic stuff

I wouldn't consider myself a huge Jay fan but I have 4 or 5 of his albums, he is just that good IMO if your a fan of hip hop then youre a fan of Jay.

Blueprint 3 sounds promising, listened to Jockin Jay-Z too many times and it has gotten very boring but Swagga Like Us has taken its place. I heard that Timbaland said he was producing the whole album which I hope to god isnt true. Kanye is a good producer but every one of his beats focuses around a sample which im not the biggest fan of.

I heard that stupid comment made by 50 cent and i just thought he was extremely sad. it doesnt make the slightest bit of sense considering that Jay sold 50 million records, established his own record label, clothing brand, designed reeboks best selling shoe, sold out worldwide tours and became the president of def jam before marrying beyonce. i actually wouldnt mind seeing jay pursue this beef because 50 wouldnt stand a chance.

I have all of Jay-z's albums and have seen him twice in concert, the second time (in Cork over the summer) definately surpassing the previuos performance in the Point (although i did see Lupe and Rick Ross as support, was impressed with Lupe not Ross).

Anyway, the best album by Jay-z imo has to be Blueprint. Not a single weak track and it still sounds fresh now. Reasonable Doubt is so close behind it, with the black album following in 3rd.
Blueprint 2 was cool dont know why it didnt sell more...

Just after listening to Jocking Jay-Z and it's good stuff. Then flipped over to my i-tunes, pressed play and a song call Me 2 Nigga by Rock (of Heltah Skeltah) is the next song lined up. These 2 songs sound a hell of a lot like each other.

EDIT: Not looking to surface any conspiracy theories or theft of other peoples work.....just a co-incidence :)

It's not one of the better songs of Rocks album, there are a good few dodgy ones on it...but some bangers also!

thats just a beat jack for a freestlye, its not an official track

for me hov's first is still his best album and to this day i can't understand why he hasn't used more Premier beats, a whole album done by Gangstarrs beat make wud be incredible.

Kanyes 808 and Heartache album is a pop album, and he'll be dropping his 4th hip hop album soon after!

Agreed, i think its overlooked by many people, when you listen through it theres a lot of great tracks ie watcher 2, the bounce, blueprint 2 and guns and roses with kravitz which is surprisingly good!!

And the addition of MOP KILLS the you dont know remix!!

kanye is quoted as saying he was using the vocoder since college dropout. too lazy to find the quote tbh.
roger troutman = the original vocoder

I've got Blueprint 2.1 and I'm actually kind of pissed because I only recently found out that it's really like a "best of" of the normal version. I bought it in the UK a few years ago and I thought it was a re-released version with all the original tracks plus a few new ones, really the opposite, they just took away a few of the tracks - a number of good songs were left out IMO. Might just go out and buy the original Blueprint 2 album...

i really dont get this voice machine thing, seems like very rap single features it. wayne and kanye seem to be inseperable but i really dont understand what it is/what it does, etc

Vocoder is a device which distorts the voice of the rapper/singer. T-pain uses it on every single record he has made, i dont even know if he can sing or if its the vocoder doing it! (aside: check out the skit he did with the vocoder on www.funnyordie.com )

Anyway, the vocoder sound electrifies the voice making it sound electro-like...

    is that a reasonabe explanation???

    dont judge..he's surprised all before.

On topic: saw an interview of Jay-Z with Westwood and he said he isnt gonna rush the album and it'll come out when it is finished. he isnt rushing the release date so if we see it in 08 i'll be very surprised

    googles says

The Blueprint 3 is the eleventh studio album by American rapper Jay-Z.[2] Jay-Z has revealed that the album will be his last ever studio release for the Def Jam label before beginning recording under the record label Live Nation.[3] The album's co-producer Kanye West stated in an interview that it will be released in February 2009.[4]
