There's 2 casinos in Nice on the promenade, centre of town within a 3/4 minute walk of each other. The first is in the Palais de la Mediterranee and i cant think of the name of the 2nd one.

The Palais is the tackier of the 2 from what i remember and is full of slots, roullette etc but i'm not sure about what poker goes down because we just had a quick look in and left it. There was a big buyin tournie on in the other casino so it was too much hassle even getting past the door!

    try this link. http://www.casinocity.com/FR/Nice/CASRUHL/

AFAIK most decent casinos in France now have live Texas Hold 'Em. I played recently in Cap d'Adge where there were 2 tables a €2/€4 with min buy in of €100 & also a €5/€5 with min buy in of €250.

I don't think you will find many tournaments as they appear to be one off events.

There is one that also has a Macdonalds at side (classy) It is part of the Meridian hotel. it looked tacky and blackpoolish from the outside, but wasnt that bad inside but you did have to pay an admission charge but cant remember what that was.

As Flushdraw said, there was some big tourneys while we were there and we never ventured too near.

When I was in Nice in June I played in the Casino Ruhl (the one with the MCD on the corner). They only got one table with 6 or 7 people going at around 11, which then broke at 2 am already. They only offered 2/5. Very basic standard, not really much action, but made a few quid.

I tried to get into a game in the Palais a few houses down from the Ruhl. They had 1 full 2/5 table running and 1 full 5/10 table running. Unfortunately both tables were full, and no seat became available for an hour or so. They also were unable to open up new tables as there were only 5 people waiting. That game seemed to be much deeper with some huge stacks. I would say the minimum stack in the 2/5 was around 500 Euro. Couldn't see much of the game itself, as the area is blocked off.

Just back from a week in Nice and the other casino there is called Casino Ryhl all ya need is a form of id either driving license or passport and they give u a players card! The only poker is cash hold'em its a 250 buy in with 5 and 5 blinds not a bad game but the French are crazy so if ya sit tight you'll get paid off. The poker starts at 3pm in the afternoon but ya need to get there early to get a seat as it takes awhile for 2 tables to get going! The other casino is just down the road from this one and it has the same game with same buy-in but it does'nt start to 8pm! Not much tourney action as far as i seen. Both casinos are on the main Promanede so its easily found! Weather there at the min is unreal so enjoy and good luck with the poker!
