I'm looking for a job in networking, what companies should I apply to? I have a CCNA and a degree in computer science and economics. In terms of experience I have one year in tech support and one and a half years in computer repair.

I have made my CV searchable on Monster, jobs.ie, and Irishjobs, and have received a few calls from recruitment agencies, with one interesting role coming up, but I want to have a few options. Are there many jobs for just network administration or should I be looking for a sys admin job with some networking requirement?

With only 1.5 years experience, I wouldn't be too picky!

Desktop suppork, system administration, network engineer... anything other than phone based tech support.

IT is based on experience and generally certification is only to keep HR depts happy. The degree will not even be taken into consideration for a support role.
You will not get a network administration position with 1.5 years experience. I would recommend continuing a lower end support role and gaining experience.

did you do a search under employer's yourself on Irish Jobs? There is quite a bit in the dekstop, network, system admin area.

Look up large outsourcing companies and start applying to them. Like EDS, IBM and HP.
Prepare to be treated badly, but the experience is worth it. You dont get the luxury of choice until you prove yourself.
