Hello all, I am in Dublin for a few days and will have time to go to the cinema. I was wondering if anyone know of a cinema here that had 4k projectors, I would love to see Wall-E or The Dark Knight in high res.

    Any ideas?

    I don't think so...

Your best bet might be to see The Dark Knight at one of the UCI cinemas which have IMAX (I think)

The only IMAX in Ireland is in Belfast.. and it's currently closed for refurbishment.

AFAIK Cineworld, Movies @ Dundrum and Stillorgan (and probably a few more besides) have one or two digital screens. Dunno that their screenings of TDK or Wall-E would be digital though.

for your info screen 9 and 11 are digital in cineworld... the 2nd and 3rd biggest screen in it... but ive been told they also kept the normal film projectors so you might end up watching it on film anyway......

So it's still rare for films to be shown using digital projectors in Ireland at the moment?

    That's a pity.

You do understand the standard celluloid resolution is superior to 4k don't you?

All 10 screens in Movies @ Swords are digital:

Question 38: Do you show films in Digital format?

Answer: Yes. Currently we are equipped with 10 fully digital screens. Anytime were are showing a digital presentation of a movie we will post it on our website and it will be put on all of our flyers and press releases.

    I'd assume Stillorgan is also.
