I can't see what you can do about it. The course staff can't predict the weather. If the greens are waterlogged, or too soft for use, temp greens have to be used.

What difference does it make? It's not like there's a standard scratch for matchplay rounds. I'm guessing you lost..:p

quote from connacht branch website below - we got to the final because they shortened the course by around 200 yards. you must have a measured course for all gui events unless your club has recieved prior notification.

i hope ye doubters have learned something

we sent down a 0,2,4 and 5 handicap and the course was changed the day before the match.

In the other semi-final the 2007 winners Strandhill had the disadvantage of three matches away against a strong Tuam side and it was to prove too much for them losing all three away, however the story wasn’t yet finished as due to some badly timed course development works from the Tuam Team’s perspective Tuam were found to have breached Connacht Inter Club General Rules 1 & 18 and subsequently disqualified following a written objection from Strandhill. It was a regrettable outcome for Tuam and one in which I sure Strandhill take no pleasure in qualifying for the Provincial Final through but nevertheless as I have been preaching all season long please read the rules prior to play.
