memory card problem

hey all, i bought 4gig sd card to us in my phone but it turns out that the phone, htc wizard/XDA mini s, only accepts up to 2gig. anyone got an easy solution. can i update windows 5.0 to recognise it or alternatively partition the card into two two gig sections? the card does not claim to be an sdhc card
