    I've just ordered the 4211 and plan to see how it goes. They seem to have good reviews except for few problems with the touchpad but hopefully it'll be working fine otherwise its going back.

    I like the EEE pc but want the bigger storage so went for the 4211. The battery on the EEE (well the 901 and 1000) is great from what ive read so that is a factor. If the battery on the 4211 is too little for me I may pick the bigger one up when they are available.

    Right heres the lowdown!The wife has had a 4211 for a week or so now .It would beat ALL the EEEs up to and including the 901 hands down but for these:
    Its battery life is poor- 2.5 hours max maybe under 2 even (although obviously on mains use this isnt an issue and it does seem to charge up quickly enough if you plug it in every now and then )
    It isnt an EEE !!!In my opinion its just not as 'cute' and 'interesting'/'cool' etc .Its like comparing an old shape Mini (car) with a new one .The 4211 is really just a 'mini' scaled down laptop.
    Its that bit heavier and bigger ...The 901 is lighter and smaller but/thus at the same price I couldnt easily justify buying it...The whole point of these netbooks was originally that they were CHEAP.The dearest ones are now passing out cheap full size laptops in price.
    The EEEs 'special' ('Solid State) hard drive/s are very fast to bootup /run and very tough /knock resisitant making it far more suitable for an outdoor/on the go existence.
    As I said taking all the above into account the Advent 4211 is the best netbook bar none considering it is 80 euro cheaper than EEE 1000 and the same price as the 901 with an 80Gb hard drive and XP vs 12Gb and XP or 20Gb and Linux for the EEE 901.
    By the way Ive seen the new Acer ONE in Dixons (demo only-no stock)and it is NOT going to worry either the EEE or 4211 ,ts like a poor imitation of both ,drawing on the weaker features of the two .Although it was the only one to be able to surf the net in the shop!
    'Proper' laptops will be dead in a year or two ....these things are the business!
