Hard Drive problem - data recovery required!

    Hey guys,

I've done a search around the forum with a few topics being useful about this but I'm soooo confused I think a fresh topic would help my situation.

My computer shut down the other day very suddenly without any warning or anything. And now it won't turn on. Brought it to PC World who replaced the power source - still nothing. They suspect its the Motherboard which if I want replaced I would have to source myself which I'm not going to do.

Anyway, my computer had 2 internal hard disks. They were able to take the secondary drive out and put it in an enclosure so make it an external hard drive which I can connect to my computer - works fine.

The other hard drive - the main one - I'm told is dead/fried and the enclosure wouldn't work with it - they did try but it got no action at all.

So after all that blahhh, my question is is there a way to retrieve the data from my main hard drive because I have all my photos and music and college work on there and I'm getting desparate!

I know I should have backed up more often so you can shoot me after we have a solution! :)

Thanks in advance for any help you can gimme!

Your motherboard, psu and Hard-drive all died at once? Was this machine under warranty?

Either you have the worst luck I have ever seen(and I maintain a couple of thousand machines) or somebody at pc world has been telling a few porkys.

The warranty expired in February. Just my luck.

Yeah a few people I've said it to have been really very surprised at what happened. I've been told its really rare for all three to go.

If there really is something wrong with the drive and it won't power up this is your only option: http://www.datarecovery.ie/
That's if you REALLY need to get the stuff back. Could prove expensive.
