A weird star over South Tipperary, last Thursday and Friday nights?

Hi there, I'll keep this quick. I was in my back garden at around 11pm last Thursday night with two friends. We were relaxing and taking it easy when one of my friends points to a fairly (what looked like) big star. It was moving erratically from side to side for about thirty seconds when it suddenly bolted upwards and disappeared! We were all fairly surprised, as none of us had ever seen anything like this!

The next night, although I wasn't watching the skies, one of my friends (from the previous night) texted me saying he had seen the weird star again, doing the exact same thing.

I'm wondering was there anything happening in the skies on those nights that would explain this?

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this thread, feel free to move it if necessary!

    Thanks.
