Hi - seems to be much cheaper for me to fly there from Sydney than to my original destintion of Chile, but I don't know much about the place. Ok it has tonnes of nature stuff, great surfing, and they speak Espanol. Is it expensive? I looked at a few surf camps and the prices were like $1000 a week, presumably US$$$, which is pretty bloody expensive. Is that normal?
    Gracias

Erm, what kind of question is that? Costa Rica (from what I've seen) looks amazing and is definitely on my list of places to go. Do some research yourself on the internet and find out for yourself, don't just book a destination because the flight is cheaper than another place.

Regarding booking tours/camps, book locally as booking through Australian, UK or US based companies charge a premium and the money doesn't go to the local economy so book with a local company. If you're spending a few weeks there just wait and book when you arrive.

most definitely not , San Jose excluded Costa Rica is one of the most amazing countries I have been to. Volcanoes, wildlife, tropical rainforest's and very friendly people I would highly recommend to anyone

Costa Rica is the most beautiful place in the whole world apart from Ireland of course!

Nice places are definately Samura, with the town right on the beach ,and a lovely atmosphere. Infact the whole of Costa Rica has a great atmosphere except San Jose !

People are so friendy and live life at a comfortable pace!

The weather is great , the people are great, the food is great, the terrain is great, the beaches are great, the drink is great and the animals are great !

The only not so great things about Costa Rica is the poverty , Earthquakes and rain in the wet season!

I would love to go back there but the flights are bit out of budget for me frown.gif

For anyone else thinking of going ,, GO
