    Hi all

I'm heading off to Croatia on Saturday for 2 weeks. I'm spending a week on the island of Korcula and a week in Cavtat. Just wondering:
    • What's the weather like in the evenings (ie will I need to bring many trousers and jumpers!?)?
    • Can anyone suggest restaraunts in Korcula?
    • Any hints on things to do in either place?

Hope ye're all enjoying the smashing Irish summer! I'll be disappointed to leave it!!!;)

Jumpers at night in Croatia in the month of August:eek::eek: Your biggest worry will be finding a place to stay which has air con for sleeping at night.

stayed in croatia about 2 years ago. you definitely won't need a jumper. i'd recommend visiting the island of hvar if you can. split is also definitely worth a visit.
the one thing i remember about the restaurants is that they served lots of pasta, and there wasn't too much variety in the menus but that was probably the only disappointment

But if, like me, you like fish, you could be very happy. I think I had grilled fish every night for a week, except for the night I had fish stew. The traditional accompaniment is mangelwurzel, which is a type of turnip -- better than it sounds.

Good variety of fish, always fresh. One to try, which we don't see much in Ireland, is dentex; it's a bit like sea-bream.
