    We're recently having to work more with a lot of large media files - video and the source files range from 1GB to 40GB.

    At the rate we're going this will soon eat up all the space on our main file server.

    Storing the source files is important but not mission critical because the final output will be <5GB, we haven't looked at or been asked for any of the videos since we closed projects over 6 months ago.

    I was thinking of a USB/firewire cradle(s) and hot-swapping in hard drives for archiving them, since 500GB drives are relatively cheap these days.

    Any other options that I could explore?
