I love Poirot! Ya can't beat Suchet (sp?) either in the role. Up there with Columbo. In fact, maybe that should be a poll - who solves crimes better - Columbo or Poirot??

Poirot is a much better crime solver than Colombo but in reality both are fairly shocking. The amount of extra deaths that happen when Poirot investigates one mystery should really blow his reputation out of the water. Aside from the plot hole, who ever plays Poirot is perfect and it's a guilty pleasure of mine

Suchet is deffo the best Poirot!

i'm so glad other people like the series; i love the books aswell.

Can't stand Miss Marple tho, books or series, drives me mad, nowhere near as entertaining!!

What was the name of the other lad who played Poirot? I think it was much earlier, i.e. in the seventies or early 80's.

Peter Ustinov played him in a couple of films, is that who you're thinking of?

Nope, nothing wrong with that! I must say that I enjoy the more "comical" (if you could say that about murders and criminals ;)) ones tho, like Midsomer Murders, Rosemary & Thyme and things like that..

Poirot is great to watch on a rainy Sunday. Betting on how many bodies will turn up in Midsomer is always fun. Long may they continue!
