Living at home can i claim dole

    I'm recently finished a degree and can't get employement as my degree was in the construction industry, i was wondering am i entitled to dole if living at home or would it be means tested on my parents, or what would i be entitled to, any help or advice would be much appreciated

    Yes you can. When they ask you tell them you don't want to go on employment assistance and that you want to stay on unemployment benefit.

    I would disregrad what Recon wrote above, as it is all wrong.
    It depends if you have been working for the last 2 years? if not and your under 24 it will be means tested on our parents income.
    If you were working in 2006 you might quailify for Jobseekers Benefit.

    iam getting jobseekers allowance at the moment cause i cant find work either. iam living at home and i was means tested.

    go to your community welfare officer and they will tell whether u are entitled an dwill give u money till your claim cmes through.
