    Have 2 questions really.

I need to get my Onkyo 606 receiver working with my DVR but all the codes for Thomson DVR's don't seem to work with it.

Also, does anyone know what the code is for controlling my Onkyo 606's volume via the UPC DVR remote?

Hi L31mr0d, don't have an answer for you but another option is to get a Logitech Harmony. I use the 885 model to control a Onkyo 605, Samsung LCD TV and Thompson DVR. Works very well.

Yeah I'm coming to this conclusion myself. BTW, your 885 does it allow the controlling of a few devices from one button? I mean can I map the "power" button to turn on the TV, Receiver and DVR all at the same time?

Also can I map a button so that it will change the input on the TV and the audio input on the receiver at the same time?

    Hi L31mr0d,

I have only done a little setup on it. At the moment I have 2 basic activities which can be customised to a high degree.

    1) Watch TV - Turns on TV, Sets AV2 source, Turns on PVR.
I could add the Onkyo into that mix easily - but I rarely use it with UPC as it doesn't provide a decent sound output.

    2) Listen to radio - simply turns off the other devices and switches to tuner on the Onkyo.

This can all be changed and setup in many ways - for example you could have a Watch DVD activity or set up your own activities e.g Watch TV 5.1

The whole thing hangs of the activities concept - which simply but are like a macro of commands but a little smarter, in that if you only use the 885 to control your devices it has awareness of what is on and what is off.

alright cool so it allows me to control a few devices with one button.

Also the digital out on the UPC DVR isn't that bad, its a helluvalot better than the old chorus digibox I had before.
