hi all looking to get an mp3 player that will play songs whilst charging, this mp3 player will be permanently left on and will need to be plugged into the mains. any advice or am i looking for too much? thanks in advance for any suggestions

Any Creative, iriver or Zune I've ever used will allow you to play whilst
charging. Just make sure you have a mains charger as most players
now only come with a USB charger (depending on MP3 player you may
be able to use a USB to mains adaptor).
