Hi, Im sure sure if this is the right place to ask this but my car radio was stolen recenltly and since im probably getting an i phone in the next few days, does anyone know of a car radio that i can connect wireless to my i phone to use for my music and for using the phone so that the telephone calls come over the car speakers???

This can't be done via bluetooth because the I phone doesn't have A2DP (stereo bluetooth) which is required to transmit calls via bluetooth. So I think that rules out wireless transmission unless I'm missing something

See my post in this thread.

Although wireless won't work for music, you can use the mini-jack socket on the front of the unit to easily connect.

As Quazzie2002 says, the bluetooth is not stereo so is only good for handfree stuff.

Interesting Apple strategy to lower costs by using older technologies where possible - e.g. initial launch without 3G, reducing chipset costs by a whole lot of money, and now reducing costs again by leaving out the stereo bluetooth option.

Not saying its bad - in fact it's admirable - they really know what the market will buy and what's critical.

Something like one of these Alpine units:

There appears to be a few on adverts.ie. Price on other on-line stores too, you might find a cheaper one.
