    Hi folks,

I took a few pics over the weekend in Croke Park.
Can you take a look and let me know what you think, including suggestions as to how I may improve.

They were taken with a Canon EOS400D, with a Sigma 170-500 f/5-6.3 AP lens.

    Thanks folks.

    They're very dark.
    What ISO did you use?
Also, pictures of someone's back are very rarely interesting.
A picture of some unknown player jogging is even less interesting.

For sport, you're better off getting action.
For field sports, it's good to get two players & a ball in the shot.

If you're not in a position to capture good action, look for interesting characters in the crowd.

You're confusing Gaelic Football with Hurling, I think! :p

I'm in the UK until Christmas, so my chances will be limited this season.

I have the same view when it comes to gig shots, when I got bored I look for peoples reactions, often it comes to it that your fav shot won't be of the event but of a spectator!

I like the shots though, maybe a bit more brightness but prob better than I would get anyway!

nope, from a gaelic football background, but currently hurling is well ahead in my view, in terms of skill and action. There has been some very dour football matches in the last few years. I just think you get much better action shots from hurling than gaelic football.

There are not too many hurling clubs in the uk, a few shinty ones up north of the border.

I thought you were talking about Gaelic Football, Derek.
You don't need to preach the beauty of Hurling to a Cork man! :p

Rugby League, Cricket, Football, Rugby Union, I've got plenty games to blag my way into over here. :D
