Basically I live in Carlow my guardian lives in Dublin (my sis) who lives in dublin and I don't get any thing of her. I am 20 and Independent with a family of mine. I applied for a grant for the first time and they told me I have to apply to Dublin?

But don't live there like. Is this correct because it don't make sense to me. Its not like am based on her income like we both have our own live to live.

i could be wrong but i'd say because you are under 23 it is based on where your guardian lives, even if you live somewhere else, and you get nothing from her. it's like a student living in dublin going to ucd applies to roscommon county council for the grant because that's where his parents or guardian are living.

so i'd say at least get yourself into the system and apply through dublin. i know you may feel they will unjustly base it on your sisters income but at least if you get refused you have grounds for appeal.

you can't appeal anything unless you are on the computer.

    best of luck
