I use MAC prep and prime from time to time and i find it quite good, but i think the best "primer" that i use before i apply foundation is using a tinted moistuiser! It really keeps ur make up on for longer becasue it kind of sets it. I use the clinique one and i love it!

MAC, Smashbox and Laura Mercier all do good primers. Smashbox especially if you have bad skin. Really evens out the surface.

I've never found that primer makes any difference at all to be honest. I have the Smashbox one and aside from my skin feeling a little smoother after I put it on, there's no change. My make-up doesn't look any better or stay on any longer. I have fairly normal skin so maybe as Larianne said, they work better if you have problematic skin. If you don't then I wouldn't bother getting one.

    +1 for smashbox.

I find it great and I have normal combination skin. It balances the oily parts and def keeps foundation on longer as well as leaving a matt finish.

The Urban Decay one is called Primer Potion - Mac owns Prep and Prime (just in case people were getting confused there!)

UDPP is the bee's knee's. I use it religiously. It brightens colours, makes them stay on longer and makes sure they don't crease.

When i started using it first my eyeshadow never creased but after 3/4 weeks it started creasing again. Wouldn't go for it again

I use it for my eye make up sometimes. It's good, but I don't know if it's amazing.

Iv been using it for a while now and its fantastic!!!!!
My eye shadow stays put all day! Fantastic stuff well worth it!

Another eye primer I have been recommended was twofaced shadow insurance so im gonna try that next!

Does anyone know how much mac prep and prime for the face is? UDPP has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of primers lol :D

I've tried MAC prep and prime and the Laura Mercier one, didn't like either. found that both irritated my skin.

I have also tried the Smashbox one but find the peach tinted one to be better than the clear coloured one. It suits my skin much better and isn't as greasy.

Benefits 'That Gal' is good also as is the Shiseido one. Both of these are good to wear on their own if you're not wearing make-up but want to perk up you skind appearance

However even tho its not a primer per se I love love love Clarins Beauty FLash Balm, blows the rest of them out of the water IMO.

That Urban Decay one sounds good for the eye make up; must put it to the test!!!

I use the tesco 'face lift' primer and its great kinda like eyeko cream. I have also started using their eye base and have found it better than the urban decay eye base even with urban decay eyeshadow

Ive used a few different primers over the years. Currently Im using the smashbox photo finish one and I find it good. Benefit do a good one in a tin I cant rem what its called. Nars do a fantastic one in a white tube, even if you test it on your hand first you will see a huge deifference once you apply powder or foundation on top. Its pricier but well worth it.
