Two of us are going on a fishing holiday on Lough Mask next month.
Anyone know a nice place to stay in the Ballinrobe / Cong area.?
Ideally a hotel that is used to fishermen.
We would probably consider a self catering also.

Hi thefoodcritic, just in case it's not too late, I don't know Ballinrobe/Cong much but I know Tourmakeady on the other side of the lough well, if that could be an option for you. You can find accomodation and details and stuff at http://www.tourmakeady.com/. I'd recommend the Annagh View house, it's actually been completely rebuilt since the photos on the site were done, with two fantastic apartments designed for fishermen coming down to rent, spectacular views over the lake etc. The owners (I should probably point out that they are distant relatives of mine :)) hire out boats as well if you want one and can point you in the right directions where needed. They run a hostel across the road too as a cheaper option.

Fishing seems to be good this year, got two nice looking brown trout in August myself, hoping to get down again for a week at the end of the month myself.
