My mother has very thin hair which gets her down. She saw an ad in today's Sunday paper for a spray that makes your hair look thicker like 'hair in a can'!
It's 59 euro. Anyone know if it's a scam or does it actually work?

This sounds like a big fat scam!!

I work for Avon and they do hair thickening products and loads of my customers seem to love them. Maybe try them?

try wella energy serum-intensive treatment for hair loss. Cant remember how much- about 20 euro. I got this for my mum. You would get it in any salons that stock wella

Thanks, but she's too far gone for shampoos! This stuff sprays on and makes it look like you have more hair than you do, it doesn't make your hair re-grow. She has her heart set on it but I don't want to see her losing her 59 euro for a tin of brown spray! She said she saw it on tv (so I guess it must be true ). Just wondering if anyone has come across it?

hey, i know the stuff you're talking about, they've been trying to sell in on tv for years. all it really is is dry shampoo (which is usually just corn or rice flour) with a color in it i think.
i got some dry shampoo for brunettes in a pharmacy in the states for about $7, it works the same i'm sure. you spray it on, and it makes your hair look thicker and fuller, the color in it helps hide the scalp and coat the hairs. its good if you have roots you're trying to cover up too.
i tried to find the same stuff in boots before, but i could only find regular dry shampoo which is just white and wouldn't work for what your mother wants probably. i heard bumble and bumble make a dry shampoo hair powder that is colored to suit different hair colors, and that its about 10euro or something. i have yet to come across it though.
try out dry shampoo first and see if it does what she wants for a cheaper price. charging 59 euro for something i can't imagine is much different than what i bought for $7 is like taking advantage of peoples insecurities.

sometimes vitamin supplements can help thicken hair, she might be deficient in something important and not know it.

Thanks, that's the one! Might try Ebay for something similar!

good idea, the stuff i got is called Salon Grafix spray powder shampoo (for brunette shades). i'd worry about using it a lot on my scalp since the ingredients includes stuff that sounds like it might not be good to put on your skin everyday. but id use it a couple of times a week. there is probably similar products that might be more natural and kind.
