Not white enough for Rose of Tralee?

Stormfront at it again.

A mixed-race contestant who is competing in this year's Rose of Tralee says she has no fears about travelling to Ireland to take part in the contest despite a series of racist remarks made against her on a website.

London Rose Belinda Brown (25) has been targeted by users of race hate website Stormfront.org since being selected in Cricklewood last month.

Born in Jamaica but raised in Ahoghill, Co Antrim, Irish-based racists have questioned Brown's right to compete in the beauty pageant because of her mixed-race parentage.

"This mixed female is indeed no Rose of Tralee," posted one member, War Maiden, on the site. "Last time I checked our women were pale-skinned maidens from our Emerald Isle, not some mud from London."

Another, with the name White Patriot, wrote: "The London entrant for this year's Rose of Tralee is a half caste mongrel. What the hell are the organisers thinking of? Whites who mix with blacks shouldn't be surprised when they get treated like animals themselves. They are traitors to their race, culture and family. We have no sympathy for them."

Ironic that Róisin Dubh (translation Black Rose) is often used as a metaphor for Ireland.

Anyway roses are supposed to be red. Them white roses don't look as nice and die sooner in my experience. They should only let pure 100% red skinned native americans enter the Rose of Tralee from now on imho.

Theres plenty of people on here that have stupid views on various other subjects. It's very annoying at time but it's their opinion and they are entitled to it.

+1 totally agree ... Their is more than one way to view anything and not everyone will view the same side of every topic in question, hence debate and discussion ...

Why am I more enetitled to insult someone over their stupidity than an other part of them? At the end of the day it's words. They cant do you any harm.

Raceism, just like sexism, homophobia, ageism and every other ism exists in the world and always will, theres no use loseign sleep over it. TBH if nobody objected to other peoples ideas and thoughts orif everyone was tolerant of everybody else , people would get fairly bored .

I know what you and I can promise you I dont lose any sleep over it but at the same time if I hear people saying this kinda stuff I wontpass no remarks to it, thats the first step to making it acceptable.

It is common enough and there is no way to get rid of it but that doesnt mean that we should take it as the norm

In case you have forgotten The Rose of Tralee is NOT a beauty contest - it is "A lovely girls contest".

It is held in a circus tent in Tralee which is close to being the arsh hole of Ireland and is usually full of RTE liggers and sweaty middle aged gimps.

I think their filth is exactly what is needed and I'll fight for their right to say it.

I'd say it's comprised substantially of social outcasts, loners/people who weren't hugged enough, just looking for a 'group' or 'tribe' to belong to.
