This is what I spent a lot of the day doing.

    2725559641_df7c3a367d.jpg

(larger version is here cos I know someone will probably ask)

I'm now going slightly blind from trying to paint out bits of the sky and sort out the landscape warping.

The base shots for this were done with a 10-20. One of the shots features in that night shot that quite a few people liked a couple of weeks ago. The kitesurfer was flying away from me and there are all sorts of other structural problems including the exposure from one shot to the next. Each shot was on AP at f8. What makes this is interesting is that for every shot, bar the frame on the extreme right, there is a kite in shot. You have no idea how hard it is to shoot a full sequence including the kite.

I know two horizons are slightly off and I'll fix it tomorrow. I have doubts about the crop, but without it I have to rebuild the sky and the sea and as I'm not convinced this is one of my best I am wondering whether it's worth the effort.

I'd be grateful if others could just cast an eye over it because I am in that zone where I cannot see the wood for the trees.

I like it just to point out something
Under the 4th image of the windsurfer there is like a jump in the see and its very straight

    Hi Calina,

I'm a great fan of your work. You turn out some amazing shots. As for bringing the camera in to the sea. Stark raving ..... but great shots :D

Now, I've done a bit of stiching before, but you like a fecking challenge :D. Sea sky and surfers. First of all your large - can we get larger to help iron out the detail.
The middle of the sky, you need to merge your layers and do some mirror copying. Working L to R, over image 5 the sky starts to show the edge of your pics. This continues up until image 7.

It's looking very well so far but we can help of you blow it up further - please.

I think what I'm seeing is the same as buzz, it's at the very top of the image as if the cloud has been cut off or something. Maybe Buzz just knows the correct terms:D

Fair play to you though, I've looked at some of your stuff before and it is amazing. I would never have the patience!

Do you always do A priority. Maybe it's just my personal preference but I rely more on Shutter priority

For the WA, I always, always use AP for the reason that I need a minimum of f8 and that's what I set it as on that lens before I go into the water. If I set to shutter priority I wind up with kites moving from sharp to blurry to sharp which is just not an option.

Otherwise I generally shoot on manual.

I get what you're saying about the sky centre top of image. I'll have a look at it.

In terms of size, what you've got is what you're going to get because eircom doesn't think I need anything more than 256kbs upstream and the base psd for this was half a gigabyte before I flattened it for the jpg. Big, big file size here.

Big file, nothing like the speed of the NTL - but only when it works!
