    For photographing pets?.

ie, how do you calm them for a few photos.

    What backgrounds work etc?.

I've two Staffordshire Bull Terriers I want to photograph and possibly my cat too.

Try bring them outside someplace - Natural backgrounds work best!

Take off their leashes, and see what you can do! If you've a mate with you that can throw something for them to fetch... and you fancy lying down in the line of fire, go for it :)

Patience and lots of it. I use a wide angle lens and more or less get right in their faces. Today I tried to shoot the new pup and the older dog. I was literally 6 inches from both of their faces here.
