Charleville Castle

My daughter is staying in Charleville Castle for the weekend because she's helping out with the Castle Palooza festival that's on there at the moment.
The organisers said she could stay in one of the rooms overnight rather than camp outside, given the weather.
Anyway I got a text from her at 2a.m. this morning.
It said "Just saw something that wasn't there. No explanation."
Unfortunately I was asleep when she sent the message and I can't contact her right now because she's busy working. So I don't know what she saw and probably won't find out till she comes back on Monday.
But I was just wondering if any of the paranormal investigators on the boards ever investigated Charleville and if so did they "find" anything strange about the place?
By the way it's open to the public during their festival this weekend....!

MOst of the regular investigators on here cut their teeth on Charleville Castle and I know it has a special place in the hearts of more than a few of us. I've stayed there 6 or 7 times at this stage.

Here is a link to a shot I took there a good while back (please excuse the site, it hasnt been updated in a while): http://www.6thsensitive.com/StairsShadow%20Image.htm

Thanks a million for that 6th. I remember that story about the little girl dying after sliding down the bannisters and falling - I didn't realise that was where it happened.
It makes sense to the text my daughter just sent me; she said
a "shape" appeared right in front of her accompanied by the sound of something falling. There was no one there and she searched high and low for an explanation but couldn't find one. She wasn't aware of that story either and I don't think I'll tell her till she comes home....:)

Chaleville Castle is almost the unofficial stomping ground of the forum here. They've been very good in allowing us down and giving us pretty unlimited access, hopefully we've been good to them too. We've had many trips down and I'd suggest using the 'search this forum' to search for charleville, there should be plenty of threads about the different trips we've had there.

I was supposed to go to Castle Palooza this year, but unfortunately for me, I had some rather unfortunate circumstances happen to me, so I couldn't :(

By all accounts it was a great success this year, great write ups in the papers. Hopefully it raised some more money for the very hospitable owners to help restore the castle. It really is a beautiful place.
Anyway it's a small world - my daughter met someone from P.R.A.O.F.I at the festival to whom she could relate her ghostly story!

I agree, tis a lovely place, and I've been involved with it for 4 years now. :)

PRAI members are always in attendance there (one their ways of supporting the castle, and also mine), in fact I'm one of the three initial/founding members. If I had been there, I'd prolly have been talking to her as well.

Agree all the way with the owner's hospitality..we had a quick visit with the family 2 years ago and they were so friendly and open about the history, ghostly happenings and just general info..they deserve help with this massive project 'cos it is a beautiful place.

Photography forum heads there as well.

We've had a few bumps in the night.... :)

(Actually, the one that scared me the most was about 2 metres under where 6th took those shots! )

I was told ages ago that there was a ghost cat in the castle, so that could be what you got a photo of?

    Quite possibly!

I'd never heard of a ghost cat in the castle, but there is quite a few wandering about.

Oh that I know for sure! Most of them are rather wary of humans as well... a couple love attention from them, like Cleo for instance.

Aye, well she's just an out and out attention whore! :p
